Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Friday that there is no evidence that Iran has ever pursued nuclear weapons.
He referred to a 2007 US intelligence report that concluded Iran had no active nuclear weapons program at that time.
Lavrov suggested that accusations against Iran are politically motivated and that the country's nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
