A 50-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and arson after allegedly stabbing a teenager and woman before starting a house fire in an Ipswich suburb west of Brisbane.
Police and emergency services were called to an altercation on Cascade St in Raceview about 4:30pm on Sunday where the man had allegedly stabbed a 40-year-old woman and 15-year-old boy.
Queensland police further allege the man then started a fire at the address.
The boy was transported to Queensland Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in a critical condition.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mater Hospital in a stable condition.
Police said it was understood the three people were known to each other.
Police said the man was arrested shortly after police arrived on scene and he has been charged with two counts of attempt to murder (domestic violence offence) and one count of arson (domestic violence offence).
