서울 중구는 안전 사각지대를 해소하고 스마트 관제 체계를 확립하고자 오는 9월까지 노후 방범용 CCTV 75대를 인공지능(AI) CCTV로 교체한다고 26일 밝혔다.

새로 도입하는 장비는 중구 내 최초의 800만 화소 초고화질 카메라다.

구는 "기존 200만 화소보다 대폭 개선해 야간, 악천후에도 명확히 식별할 수 있다"며 "특히 원거리 영상을 확대해도 화질 저하가 발생하지 않아 단일 기기로 더 넓은 구역을 감시할 수 있게 된다"고 설명했다.

또한 새 CCTV에는 AI 영상 분석 소프트웨어가 탑재된다. 영상을 실시간으로 분석해 폭행, 쓰러짐 등 위급상황이 발생하면 통합관제센터 모니터에 즉각 알림을 표출한다.

현재 중구 내 CCTV는 총 3천522대(지능형 909대 포함)다. 구는 앞으로 노후 장비 교체와 성능 개선을 통해 빈틈없는 스마트 관제망을 구축해 나갈 방침이다.
