A South Australian school principal has been cleared of "misconduct" by the Education Department after being abruptly stood down from her job.

In November, the department suspended Tamarin Condon from her position as principal of Wallaroo Mines Primary School in Kadina.

Before she was stood down, Ms Condon was the subject of a petition circulated online which called on the department to "urgently review" her leadership and expressed concerns about alleged "unprofessional behaviour".

At the time, then-education minister Blair Boyer confirmed reports she had invited her husband, Simon Condon, to assist at a school camp.

Mr Condon had worked as a student support officer but was not employed by the school.

In a brief statement, a Department spokesperson said:

"The Department for Education has concluded its investigation. No misconduct was identified."

"A new Principal has been appointed to Wallaroo Mines Primary School.

"For privacy reasons, we do not intend to comment further about this matter."

The department said it could not comment on what lines of inquiry were pursued during their investigation, citing privacy.

The ABC reported in December that parents said Department for Education officials had quizzed students who attended the camp about Ms Condon's behaviour.

At the time, two parents said they had spoken to SA Police, and a police spokesperson confirmed they were aware of the matter.

"There is no police investigation at this time. Enquiries should be directed to the Department for Education," the spokesperson had said.

In a statement, Ms Condon's lawyer, Luke Officer, said his client welcomed the findings.

"Allegations are only that until they are otherwise proven," Mr Officer said.

"Investigations into allegations must proceed without unhelpful public commentary that can damage reputations unnecessarily and without justification.

"As the Department has concluded there was no misconduct after a thorough investigation, this matter is a timely reminder of those fundamental principles.

Victorian Public Schools Phase Out Montessori Amid Explicit Instruction Mandate

Victorian public schools are phasing out Montessori programs, impacting students like Leah with complex medical needs, due to a state government mandate for explicit instruction by 2028. This policy shift, supported by the contentious Australian Education Research Organisation (Aero), is criticized by educators, while a damning independent report on Aero remains hidden by the federal government.
