The Ministry of Data and Statistics said its delegation signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with its Finnish counterpart in Helsinki on Tuesday (local time).

"The two organizations shared a consensus on the need to pursue innovation in data governance and statistical production systems in response to the spread of AI technology and growing demand for data-driven policies," the ministry said in a release.

South Korea and Finland agreed to exchange experience and knowledge in the field of statistics, as well as hold bilateral meetings and academic seminars to strengthen cooperation.

"Statistics Finland is one of the world's leading organizations in utilizing statistics and administrative data," the ministry said.
