UltraTech Cement reported a 17% YoY rise in Q1FY27 consolidated net profit to Rs 2,599 crore, with revenue increasing 16% to Rs 24,648 crore, driven by higher cement volumes and improved realisations.
UltraTech Cement on Monday reported a 17% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 2,599 crore for the first quarter, compared with Rs 2,226 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue from operations rose 16% YoY to Rs 24,648 crore.
The profit growth was aided by higher cement volumes, better sales realisation and growth across its ready-mix concrete and construction chemicals businesses. The company said the quarter saw robust growth in volumes, revenue and profitability.
Consolidated EBITDA during the quarter rose 12% YoY to Rs 5,146 crore from Rs 4,591 crore a year ago.
UltraTech’s consolidated grey cement volume rose 12% YoY to 41.31 million tonnes. Domestic grey cement volume stood at 39.17 million tonnes, up 13%, while domestic white cement volume rose 13% to 0.53 million tonnes. Overseas grey and white cement volume declined 11% to 1.57 million tonnes. Exports and others grew 17% to 0.15 million tonnes.
The company said the UltraTech brand grew 21% YoY during the quarter.
Sales realisation also improved. Domestic grey cement realisation stood at Rs 5,218 per tonne in Q1FY27, compared with Rs 5,163 in Q1FY26 and Rs 5,034 in Q4FY26, implying a 3.7% sequential increase.
The revenue growth was broad-based. UltraTech's domestic grey cement business reported revenue of Rs 20,437 crore, up 20% YoY. White cement revenue rose 22.8% to Rs 700 crore. Ready-mix concrete revenue increased 22% to Rs 2,235 crore, while construction chemicals revenue grew 52% to Rs 341 crore.
India Cements, now part of UltraTech's consolidated numbers, contributed Rs 1,013 crore in revenue during the quarter. Overseas grey and white cement revenue surged 245% to Rs 1,173 crore.
UltraTech continued to expand capacity during the quarter, commissioning 8.7 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of grey cement capacity. This took its total consolidated grey cement capacity to 205.5 mtpa as of June 2026. The company's capacity roadmap indicates total grey cement capacity will rise to 212.7 mtpa in FY27 and 242.5 mtpa in FY28.
The company also expanded its building solutions network. UltraTech had 5,802 UBS outlets in Q1, up 21% from a year earlier. Its ready-mix concrete footprint stood at 477 plants across 170 cities. RMC volume rose 18% to 4.62 million cubic metres, while RMC revenue increased 22% to Rs 2,235 crore.
On costs, the picture was mixed. Logistics cost stood at Rs 1,149 per tonne, down 0.4% YoY and 1% sequentially, aided by lower lead distance. Fuel cost rose 5% YoY as well as sequentially to Rs 915 per tonne. Raw material cost increased 9% YoY to Rs 682 per tonne, while other costs rose 7% to Rs 738 per tonne.
UltraTech said its green power mix stood at 45.6% in Q1FY27, up 23% YoY. Renewable power capacity rose 35% to 1.46 GW, while waste heat recovery system (WHRS) capacity increased 19% to 434 MW.
