SEOUL, July 24 (Yonhap) -- Woori Financial Group on Friday reported a 7.4 percent rise in its second-quarter net profit on a rise in both interest and non-interest income.
Its net profit reached 1 trillion won (US$682 million) in the April-June period, which also marks a 66 percent rise from the previous quarter.
In the first six months of the year, the company racked up 1.61 trillion won in net profit, up 3.7 percent from a year earlier.
Its interest income rose 3.3 percent on-year to 2.3 trillion won in the second quarter, and non-interest income spiked 19.4 percent to 629 billion won over the cited period.
Interest income also rose 2.3 percent on-year to 2.3 trillion won in the second quarter.
Its non-interest income surged 26.7 percent on-year to 455 billion won in the April-June period, it said.
Its flagship Woori Bank reported a net profit of 842 billion won in the second quarter.
