アカアシドゥクラングールは絶滅危惧種のサル。赤茶色や黒色、白色など鮮やかな毛並みから「世界一美しいサル」と言われる。国内で飼育するのはズーラシアと徳山動物園（山口県周南市）の2園のみで、赤ちゃんを見られるのは貴重だ。
愛称「ミー」は生息地ベトナムの「美しい」を意味する言葉に由来する。飼育員が名前の候補を三つ挙げ、来園者による人気投票で決まった。
飼育員によると、父「モイ」と母「ホア」にくっついていることが多いが、4月下旬には「独り立ち」して丸太を渡るなど順調に成長しているという。【神内亜実】
