A special investigation team probing alleged embezzlement of donations at Ayodhya's Ram Temple has been granted a 15-day extension. This follows the judicial remand of accused individuals and the resignation of key Trust officials, including Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, who have provided statements.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust meeting is moved to July 6 to finalize resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and member Anil Mishra. The Trust, headed by Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, will also discuss operational restructuring and crowd management.
Champat Rai has resigned as General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on moral grounds following allegations of donation embezzlement at the Ayodhya Ram temple. A SIT was formed by the UP government to investigate, and an FIR named a former driver of Rai. Eight accused have been arrested.
