Dubois rewrites quitter narrative in strangely uplifting night for boxing

New heavyweight champion climbed off the canvas twice before overwhelming Fabio Wardley in a battle that finally silenced his doubters“I was in there with a live dog and I loved it,” Daniel Dubois said in the early hours of Sunday morning as, looking suitably gladiatorial without a shirt, the new WBO world heavyweight champion reflected on the monumental battle he had just shared with the valiant Fabio Wardley in Manchester. “He came to win and it was a real crowd-pleaser. It was as if a sizeable proportion of match-going Arsenal fans had finally twigged there’s more to supporting your team than turning up five minutes before kick-off and sitting in nervous near-silence for 90 minutes. “We felt it,” cooed Bukayo Saka, in a post-match interview with the CBS Bigger Cup B@nter Show. “Since we were on the coach, I’ve never seen the Emirates like this in my whole career. It was so special. When the game started, they pushed us. It was just a beautiful moment.” Continue reading...

Jamie Bigg, known as Giant on BBC's Gladiators, has left the show after three series. The 6ft 5in former professional bodybuilder and firefighter announced his departure on Instagram, claiming he was told he wouldn't be continuing after making it clear he planned to go public about his relationship with an OnlyFans creator partner. A Gladiators spokesperson thanked him for his contributions. Bigg said he was faced with a choice that didn't align with his values and chose to stand by his partner.
