Hebrew University Lecturer Detained for Wearing Kippah With Palestinian Flag

A Hebrew University lecturer was detained by Israeli police in Modi'in for wearing a kippah adorned with Israeli and Palestinian flags. Alex Sinclair, who wore the symbolic head covering for 20 years without issue, was approached by a man who claimed it was illegal. Police arrived, attempted to confiscate the kippah, and detained him when he refused. A female officer cut out the Palestinian flag before returning the head covering. Sinclair filed a complaint with DIPI demanding compensation and written assurance he can wear it freely.
