Trump posted on Truth Social claiming a new nuclear deal with Iran would be far superior to the 2015 JCPOA, which he called one of the worst deals in American history. The first round of talks in Islamabad on April 11-12 lasted 21 hours but ended without agreement. Iran has said it has no plans for a second round, citing the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as a ceasefire violation. The ceasefire is set to expire Wednesday evening.
