Kim Nam-guk of the Democratic Party won the election with 50,969 votes, securing 55.45% of the total vote. Kim Seok-hoon of the People Power Party came in second with 35,967 votes (39.13%), followed by Moon In-soo of the Reform Party with 4,968 votes (5.40%).
