Russia accuses Ukraine of attacks on journalists, West of censorship at UN committee session
Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya accused Ukraine of carrying out terrorist attacks on Russian civilians and journalists at the 48th session of the UN General Assembly Committee on Information. He stated that Ukrainian army attacks killed six Russian journalists in 2025, with one correspondent surviving a drone attack in 2026. Nebenzya also criticized Western countries for restricting free information access, blocking opposition media in Ukraine, and allowing the Mirotvorets extremist website to operate. The US denied an entry visa to a Russian delegation member, which Russia called a violation of host country agreements.
