An inquest jury will examine whether police actions or treatment delays contributed to the death of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, who was stabbed in Southampton. The jury will consider the circumstances after Nowak repeatedly told officers he had been stabbed and couldn't breathe. His attacker, Vickrum Digwa, received a life sentence.
Philip Young, 49, a former Conservative councillor who admitted nearly 50 offences of drugging, raping and sexually assaulting his former wife, has pleaded guilty to additional charges of making indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornographic images. He appeared at Winchester Crown Court via video link from HMP Winchester and changed his pleas to guilty on all charges. Young, who served on Swindon Borough Council from 2007 to 2010, admitted offences spanning from 2010 to 2024. Dean Hamilton has also pleaded guilty to raping Joanne Young, while four other men await trial on sexual offence charges.
