Hong Kong police arrested 78 people, including a 16-year-old, in an anti-triad operation targeting illegal gambling at Happy Valley Racecourse. The crackdown, conducted from July 7 to Monday, uncovered a syndicate involved in illicit horse racing betting.
Hong Kong police have arrested a 44-year-old man for allegedly trafficking more than HK$800,000 (US$102,110) of suspected heroin. Officers found about 300 grams of heroin in a reusable bag and an additional kilogram inside a flat on Yan Po Road in Tuen Mun. The man, surnamed Chan, is being detained for investigation on suspicion of drug trafficking, which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a HK$5 million fine.
