FBI Uses DOJ Aircraft to Recover 10-Year-Old Child From Cuba in International Parental Kidnapping Case

FBI deployed a U.S. Department of Justice aircraft to Havana, Cuba to recover a 10-year-old child allegedly abducted by the child's transgender parent and partner. Rose Inessa-Ethington, 42, and Blue Inessa-Ethington, 32, from Utah face international parental kidnapping charges. The child, assigned male at birth who identifies as female, was taken from Utah in late March 2026, allegedly under the guise of a camping trip to Canada, but ultimately transported through Mexico to Cuba. The child was returned safely to the biological mother on April 16 following coordination between U.S. and Cuban authorities.
