Diamond Harbour Police reopened a 2020 assault case against Trinamool leader Jahangir Khan for attacking BJP leader JP Nadda. Khan, already facing multiple charges, was paraded through streets for crime scene reconstruction.
Himanta Biswa Sarma has been unanimously re-elected as the BJP legislature party leader in Assam for a second term. Central observers JP Nadda and Nayab Singh Saini oversaw the meeting. Sarma is set to take oath as Chief Minister on Tuesday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending as chief guest. The BJP-led NDA secured a decisive victory, winning 102 seats.
Union Minister JP Nadda at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference urged India to convert global uncertainties into opportunities to achieve Viksit Bharat by 2047. He called for higher manufacturing capacity, resilience and self-reliance, highlighting the shift in government-industry relations since the 2003 Vibrant Gujarat initiative. Nadda also underscored south Gujarat's strategic importance as an economic hub with Surat's diamond and textile industries and industrial zones in Bharuch, Dahej and Ankleshwar.
