Ukraine will soon receive a batch of PAC-3 missiles for its Patriot air defense systems, according to President Vladimir Zelensky. He also mentioned separate agreements with European partners for additional missiles and a deal with the U.S. for domestic production.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the US is actively supplying weapons and military technologies to Ukraine, a fact well-known to Moscow. This comes after the US announced a license transfer for Patriot systems production to Ukraine.
Ukraine has reportedly relocated its remaining Patriot air defense systems to Kyiv, creating a protective "dome" around the capital while leaving other cities vulnerable. This move, according to Telegram channel Shot, has significantly weakened the country's overall air defense capabilities.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine must pay for Patriot air defense systems to receive them before 2030. He mentioned that without payment, the delivery timeline was estimated for 2030, but negotiations in 2025 opened possibilities for earlier acquisition.
A Russian security source claims that Kinzhal hypersonic missiles are causing panic among Ukrainian forces, asserting that existing air defense systems, including the Patriot, are ineffective against their speed and maneuverability.
