An 8-month-old baby, Nova, stopped breathing at a Clifton, Arizona post office. Former nurse and postal clerk Mary Schwarz performed CPR, saving Nova's life. Clifton Police Lt. Shari Aguilar then rushed Nova to a clinic, leading to her recovery and transfer to a Tucson hospital.
Evelyn Ballentyne testified in Bristol crown court that she found her four-week-old son, Atticus Bartlett, "floppy and grey" and making "gasping noises" after his father, Tony Bartlett, allegedly shook him violently, causing brain damage. The baby later died. Tony Bartlett denies murder and manslaughter.
Postal worker Andrea Bunar has returned to delivering mail by barge in the Spreewald Forest Delta southeast of Berlin. The 55-year-old resumes her spring and summer route after months of winter deliveries by car, navigating narrow rivers and creeks around Lehde village. The village is the only place in Germany where post still arrives by boat, a tradition spanning 129 years. Bunar has worked the route for 14 years, carrying approximately 600 letters and 80 parcels weekly along an eight-kilometre circuit.
Royal Mail is investigating allegations that a postal worker claimed to have dumped Reform UK campaign leaflets in a bin ahead of Thursday's local elections. A post on a private 30,000-member Facebook group for Royal Mail staff showed someone claiming to have discarded the leaflets. Reform UK has written to Royal Mail's chief executive demanding a full investigation within three days, compensation, and confirmation of disciplinary action. Leader Nigel Farage called it 'an attack on the democratic process itself' if true.
