Wayne County Prosecutors Office announced May 1 that Steelers WR DK Metcalf will not face criminal charges for his December altercation with fan Ryan Kennedy at Ford Field. The fan did not appear injured and did not seek medical attention. Metcalf was suspended two games without pay, forfeiting over $500,000 and voiding $45 million in guarantees. A special counsel team raided the Supreme Prosecutors Office on Thursday to investigate former Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung's alleged involvement in former President Yoon Suk Yeol's failed martial law attempt in December 2024. Shim is suspected of reviewing the possible dispatch of public prosecutors to a martial law investigation headquarters and holding three phone calls with then Justice Minister Park Sung-jae. The investigation also covers Shim's decision not to appeal Yoon's release from custody in March 2025. Yoon was sentenced to life imprisonment in February 2026 for leading an insurrection and remains in custody while appealing.
