Fire broke out at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire early Sunday morning in an industrial storage building. Fire chiefs say the blaze has been extinguished with no injuries, and early indications suggest the cause was accidental. The base is being used by the USAF to launch operations against Iran.

A fire broke out at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, a UK military base used by the United States Air Force for operations against Iran. Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service responded to the blaze in a commercial building in the Fairford area on Sunday morning. Residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed due to smoke. The base, located near the Wiltshire border, can host B-1, B-2 and B-52 bombers. The UK government announced on 1 March that it had agreed to allow British military bases to be used for defensive strikes on Iranian missile sites.
