Esme Hamilton won her first European Tour title at the South African Women's Open in Cape Town, finishing two shots ahead of fellow Englishwoman Cara Gainer. The 26-year-old endured a difficult front nine but recovered to post a two-under-par 71, finishing at 15-under for the tournament. It was Hamilton's 22nd attempt to win a European Tour title.
