Bear Dies After Being Stranded on New Mexico Telephone Pole

A bear found stranded atop a 35ft telephone pole near Gladstone, New Mexico, died from electrocution before wildlife officials could safely rescue it. A 911 operator had previously stated that tranquilizing the animal while on the pole could cause it to fall.
