Naked Terry Jones Statue Unveiled in Colwyn Bay Hometown
A life-sized bronze statue of Terry Jones has been unveiled in his birthplace of Colwyn Bay, north Wales, depicting the Monty Python star as his iconic nude organist character. Jones, who died in 2020 aged 77, is shown nude with wild hair and a flapping tie, playing an organ that merges into his writing desk. Fellow Python members Sir Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam attended the Saturday unveiling, with Palin saying Jones would find the tribute "very funny indeed". The £120,000 fundraising campaign attracted donations from around the world and was supported by all surviving Python members.
