Greece Integrates Satellite Network for Wildfire Detection into National System

Greece has become the first nation to fully integrate a dedicated wildfire-monitoring satellite constellation, the Hellenic Fire System, into its national firefighting efforts. Developed by German company OroraTech with ESA and EU support, the four satellites use AI and thermal sensors to detect fires as small as four meters, aiming for earlier intervention.
