Rutland 'Bomber Oak' shortlisted for UK Tree of the Year award
A Rutland oak tree, which survived being struck by a World War II Lancaster bomber, has been shortlisted for the UK Tree of the Year award. It joins nine other trees with unique survival stories, including a yew hit by a Civil War cannonball. The public can now vote for their favourite.
