Queensland Police charged Stellios (Stan) Theodoros on Tuesday morning with 94 counts of rape and 54 counts of sexual assault.
Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch established Operation Xray Cariyna in August last year after multiple women made complaints to police.
Police allege that between the early 2000s to 2015, the 74-year-old Highgate Hill man sexually assaulted 15 women, aged in their late teens to 40s, during his role as a doctor at a health centre in Tarragindi.
The family GP worked at Wellers Hill Medical Centre until his retirement in 2021 and was removed as a company director last year.
He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 23.
UMG CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Denis Silk asked members of the public with information to "come forward directly to us or anonymously to Crime stoppers."
One former patient who made a police complaint told the ABC the charges were "a long time coming".
"It's such a relief. This is the biggest milestone and it needed to be known that charges have been laid," she said.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
