By Kim Eun-jung SEOUL, May 13 (Yonhap) -- Korean Air said Wednesday it has unveiled a retired Boeing 747 aircraft donated to the California Science Center for display in the center's aviation gallery. The Boeing 747-400 was unveiled during a commemorative ceremony held Tuesday (local time) at the Korean Air Aviation Gallery at the center in Los Angeles, attended by officials from the airline and the science center. The retired aircraft is a double-decker, wide-body jet standing 19.4 meters tall. It was operated by Korean Air from 1994 to 2014, completing 13,842 flights and logging 86,095 flight hours. Korean Air said it is partnering with the California Science Center to transform the aircraft's 70-foot forward fuselage section into an interactive educational exhibit. The exhibit will feature an immersive theater installation simulating a flight from Los Angeles to Seoul, along with a wind tunnel laboratory exhibit.
