Dolphins get a bigger home crowd than the Broncos

Last night's match between the Brisbane Broncos at Sydney Roosters at Lang Park had a little less than 40,000 in attendance.

This afternoon's match between the Dolphins and Warriors has drawn a little more than 40,000.

To be exact, it is 40,465 fans.

Last night was a little wet, and this afternoon is perfect.

Many in the crowd today are actually cheering for the Warriors, rather than the Dolphins.

But I have no doubt those in the Dolphins' front office will be thrilled at this crowd figure.

Right centre Herbie Farnworth makes a line break, puts in a grubber kick, the ball bounces high, ricochets off the head of Warriors fullback Taine Tuaupiki, and right winger Jamayne Isaako scores.

Dolphins five-eighth Kodi Nikorima is sucking in big breaths in backfield after being crunched in a hard hit.

The Dolphins made a line break from their own half to put the Warriors under pressure.

A knocked-down pass from Warriors winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak gave the Dolphins a full set at the goal-line.

The Dolphins were then boosted with a six-again, but a forward pass by Max Plath ended the attacking raid.

Update on Isaiya Katoa wrist injury

The biggest talking point of the first half was the injury to Dolphins halfback Isaiya Katoa.

His arm is in a sling.

Fox Sports is reporting that Katoa suffered a dislocation of the left wrist.

Fox reports that Dolphins' medical staff were able to put the wrist back into place and that scans will be needed to assess the severity of the injury.

This match is living up to the hype.

The Dolphins take a 16-12 lead at halftime over the Warriors after a sensational 40 minutes of rugby league.

The Dolphins scored three tries to the Warriors two, with the big play coming in the final two minutes of the half. A one-on-one strip from little Kodi Nikorima led to the Dolphins scoring the go-ahead try, thanks to a terrific finish from Jamayne Isaako.

The big news is Dolphins' halfback Isaiya Katoa who has his left arm in a sling.

Isaako dives for the corner, turns his body midair, and grounds the footy with one hand. BRILLIANT.

After a six-again restart allowed the Dolphins to attack the Warriors' goal line, the home side sliced through to score.

Five-eighth Kodi Nikorima catches the ball from dummy-half, and gives a lovely short ball to Farnworth, who goes through a big gap to score.

He dove to try to stop the previous Warriors' try, and he has been called for a Head Injury Assessment.

18' TRY: Dallin Watene-Zelezniak scores for the Warriors

The Warriors have extended their lead.

An attacking kick from five-eighth Chanel Harris-Tavita to the right is again caught by Jacob Laban.

Laban taps the ball back to halfback Te Maire Martin.

Martin then passes a bullet pass to right winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, and there are no Dolphins in defence. The Dolphins' left-edge had crashed in to be part of the contest.
