Substitute Amad Diallo scored a dramatic late winner as Côte d'Ivoire beat Ecuador in their Group E match in Philadelphia.
In a feisty match, both sides missed chances to score, with Ecuador twice hitting the bar in the first half.
Elye Wahi came closest for Côte d'Ivoire when his shot also crashed off the bar.
