Sarah Hill's car was stolen about 1pm yesterday, while her baby daughter Cali slept in a booster seat inside the vehicle.
"I was cleaning out my car ... It happened in a matter of seconds," she said.
The 32-year-old mother of three described the moment she realised her two-month old daughter Cali had been taken as "gut-wrenching".
"I just went into shock. You just don't even know how to act, what to say, what to do," she said.
"It was the longest three minutes ever, very painful."

Police investigating the incident
The alleged thieves returned moments later and placed the baby, still in the car seat, on the side of the road, before driving away again.
A police helicopter assisted with the search for the alleged offenders overnight and the vehicle has been located.
Officers have arrested eight young people and two adults in relation to the incident.
Ms Hill said she felt lucky baby Cali was not hurt during the incident, but she had held her close ever since.
"I don't want to let her go, I just want to hold on to her," she said.
"it just makes you realise how precious life is and that things could have gone wrong and they didn't."
Ms Hill said although she had not been targeted by criminals at her current address, she did not feel as if the current laws were protecting people.
"Do something about it, because it's clearly out of control," she said.
"I'd like to see something implemented that's a little bit more serious than what's going on here because to feel safe in your town would be really, really nice."
Police have arrested six young people in relation to the incident.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dash cam footage, who could assist their investigation to come forward.
