Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang: Agentic AI is an Opportunity, Not a Threat

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has echoed the optimism of global software leaders and pushed back against the fears of a looming “SaaSpocalypse,” telling audiences at Computex that the rise of agentic AI is creating unprecedented opportunities for software firms. Huang addressed concerns that AI agents could disrupt traditional SaaS models, saying: “A lot of people have said, ‘Jensen, AI is coming. Agentic AI is coming. Therefore, all of the software companies are going to go out of business.’ I said it’s exactly the opposite.” For those unaware, Agentic AI refers to systems capable of accomplishing tasks with minimal human intervention, Huang believes that agents will rely more on tools than ever, software companies remain indispensable provided they adapt their products to be usable by AI.

Jensen Huang’s views align with industry leaders

The remarks made by the Nvidia CEO align with that of TCS CEO K. Krithivasan, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and SAP CEO Christian Klein. All the tech leaders have described this as a transformative era for software firms. Recently, Benioff also dismissed the fears of “Saaspocalypse,” while Klein noted that AI is enhancing enterprise software rather than replacing it. Together, these leaders are pushing back against investor anxiety that has driven down software stocks with Atlassian, Salesforce, and SAP all falling more than 20% since the start of 2026.

Huang further emphasized that opportunity lies in retooling software for AI agents: “This is actually an incredible time to be a software company, but the software has to be presented to the agent in a way that the agent can use it.” This reframes AI as a growth driver, not a threat, for companies willing to evolve their offerings.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to CEOs blaming AI for layoffs

Recently, Jensen Huang criticised corporate leaders who are attributing layoffs to artificial intelligence. The chief executive of the US-based chipmaking giant called such explanations “lazy” and questioned how companies could justify job cuts using AI before the technology became widely usable in workplaces. Speaking to Singapore broadcaster CNA in an interview in Taiwan, Huang said many executives were oversimplifying the relationship between AI adoption and workforce reductions. He said, “I think the narrative that connects AI to job loss for many of the CEOs that are doing it, it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived. How is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang argued that linking layoffs to AI “doesn't make any sense” when generative AI tools only became broadly practical for businesses recently. “How is it possible that AI became productive and useful only six months ago, and they were somehow laying people off two years ago because of AI?” he added.
