BRASILIA, May 25. /TASS/. Trade turnover between Russia and Brazil currently stands at $10.5 bln, Russian Ambassador to Brazil Alexey Labetsky told reporters.
"Brazil is our main international trading partner in Latin America. We’ve reached over $10 bln. <…> Last year [trade turnover] was $10.5 bln, according to Brazilian statistics. And that’s a respectable trade turnover," he said on the sidelines of the 13th plenary session of the Russian-Brazilian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation chaired by Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov.
The basis of trade is the supply of all types of Russian fertilizers and diesel fuel, the diplomat said. "We deliver about 30% of what the Brazilian agricultural industry needs. And secondly, we are now one of the main suppliers of diesel fuel. As for Brazilian supplies, well, first of all, those are supplies of agricultural products, meat," he said.
