"31,000 cases of tax crimes have been completed, over 561 bln rubles of unpaid taxes have been returned to the state income, and property worth more than 354 bln rubles ($4.7 bln) has been additionally seized," he said.
Almost 10,000 criminal cases have been transferred to the courts on the facts of non-payment of wages during 15 years, over 37 bln rubles ($488.8 mln) have been reimbursed to employees, and the property of employers amounting to almost 16 bln rubles ($211.3 mln) has been seized, Fedorov noted. "In such cases, the Investigative Committee acts as a mechanism for restoring social justice: labor must be paid, tax obligations must be fulfilled, budget funds must be protected, and entrepreneurial activity must be freed from criminal schemes," he added.
