Samsung Launches Three Foldable Phones and Two Smartwatches at Galaxy Unpacked

Samsung has launched three foldable phones for the first time ever: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Alongside these, two new smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9, also made their debut.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 price in India for 256GB variant is set at Rs 1,79,999; the 512GB model is priced at Rs 1,99,999; and the 1TB version is priced at Rs 2,39,999. The phone is launched in Lavender, Graphite and Cream colour options. There is an online-exclusive colour Pistachio. The phone will be available for purchase starting August 7. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will be available in three storage and memory configurations. The base variant offers 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and is priced at Rs 1,99,999. The 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model is priced at Rs 2,19,999, while the top-end model comes with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage and is priced at Rs 2,59,999. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 price in India starts at Rs 1,24,999 for the base variant which packs 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Samsung offers a second variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage capacity. It is priced at Rs 1,44,999. Graphite, Cream and Pink are the colour options that a buyer can choose from. The smartphone is up for pre-orders on Samsung India website. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is priced at Rs 69,999, while the Galaxy Watch 9 starts at Rs 38,999 for the Bluetooth variant. Both are up for pre-order in India from July 22, with sales opening on August 7. Pricing for the new foldables is expected to follow shortly.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: Lighter, built for everyday use

The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is Samsung's lightest Fold yet. It sports a 7.6-inch main screen and a 5.5-inch cover display, both running at 120Hz, with the main panel reaching up to 3,000 nits of brightness for better outdoor visibility. Under the hood sits Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with up to 16GB RAM and storage options going up to 1TB. It runs Android 17 with One UI 9 on top, carries an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, and packs a 4,800mAh battery that Samsung says can charge up to 67% in half an hour. On the camera front, you get a dual 50MP setup along with features like Dual Recording and auto-tracking selfies through My FanCam.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: The premium foldable for power users

Sitting above the standard Fold is the new Z Fold 8 Ultra, which brings Samsung's "Ultra" branding to foldables for the first time. It gets an 8-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover screen, both hitting 3,000 nits peak brightness, and unfolds to just 4.1mm thick. The same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip powers it, but the standout upgrade is the camera: A 200MP main sensor joined by a 50MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It's also the first Samsung foldable to carry a 5,000mAh battery, and it comes with seven years of promised OS and security updates, plus deeper Galaxy AI tools like Gemini Notebook and Now Brief.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8: AI comes to the cover screen

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 gets a reworked FlexWindow that now functions as an AI-native interface, letting users check updates, trigger automations, or respond to voice commands without ever opening the phone. The phone houses a 6.9-inch main display. Interestingly, Samsung has switched to its own Exynos 2600 chipset here instead of Qualcomm silicon. Camera-wise, the Flip 8 sticks to Samsung's FlexCam formula with a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP wide-angle lens, adding tools like FlipShot and Mirror View for framing selfies using the cover screen. A 4,300mAh battery rounds things off, with seven years of software support promised as well.
