Supreme Court Stays Madras High Court Order, Allows TVK MLA to Participate in Floor Test

The Supreme Court has stayed a Madras High Court order that barred TVK MLA R Sreenivasa Sethupathi from participating in a floor test, allowing him to vote in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

The apex court found the high court's action unusual. Sethupathi had narrowly won his seat against a DMK leader. The Tamil Nadu government subsequently won its vote of confidence.
