Taylor Swift Reportedly Working on Surprise Love Song for Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift does not do anything halfway, and her overnight session at Electric Lady Studios in New York on June 16 into the early hours of June 17 is proof of that. TMZ reported she arrived Monday evening and did not leave until around 6 a.m. Tuesday. That kind of marathon session from someone two weeks out from a reported July 3 wedding date is going to get people talking, and it did. Sources speaking to the Daily Mirror are now claiming Swift is not working on a new album. The gift she is reportedly preparing for Travis Kelce is something far more personal than that.

What sources are saying Swift is making for Kelce ahead of the wedding

An insider told the Daily Mirror that Swift has been "creating a beautiful love song for her future husband" and has been at it "for the past few weeks." The same source described it as "a sweet ballad" with "a hypnotic chorus," with lyrics that will touch on "what makes their relationship click" and hint at "the special, private moments they have had together." The source also claimed Swift plans to perform it during the wedding reception and release it publicly the same day. A second source, also speaking to the Daily Mirror, pumped the brakes slightly, saying that if Swift did make something this personal for Kelce, sharing it widely would be "just not her style." Neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed any of this. Swift has not announced new music, a new album, or any project beyond her June 2026 contribution to the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, "I Knew It, I Knew You." Electric Lady Studios is not new territory for her either. She has recorded there across multiple projects, including Lover, Folklore, Midnights, The Tortured Poets Department, and several of her Taylor's Version re-records. One studio visit does not confirm anything on its own.

The wedding itself is still officially unconfirmed, and the details keep shifting

Multiple sources have told Page Six that Swift and Kelce are planning a large celebration at Madison Square Garden on July 3, with the couple reportedly paying $3 million to secure the venue across three days. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani also appeared to reference a New York wedding over the July 4 weekend in recent public remarks. TMZ separately reported that an earlier celebration planned for June 13 at the Ocean House resort in Rhode Island was called off after the venue details leaked. According to that report, the fireworks company handling the event was told in mid-May that the event had been canceled and moved to New York. The Rhode Island cancellation also fueled speculation that the couple may have already married privately, though TMZ presented no evidence of that. Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025. Reports suggest guests at the July celebration have been asked to sign non-disclosure agreements before receiving any details. Sources told Page Six that "privacy was of number one importance to them both." Between the NDAs, the shifting venues, and an overnight studio session two weeks before the reported date, Swift is doing exactly what she has always done: controlling the narrative completely, and letting everyone else scramble to keep up.
