Strike Force Eckon started investigating a large volume of abusive letters sent to multiple recipients in May 2026.

Taille de police

A Western Sydney woman allegedly threatened to kill NSW Labor minister Jihad Dib, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, independent federal MP Allegra Spender and 15 others, NSW Police say.

Court documents obtained by the ABC revealed details of the 62 charges facing 36-year-old Jasmine Baker, who was arrested by police on Wednesday morning at her home in Constitution Hill.

Included are 18 threats to kill, 23 stalking and intimidation charges, eight charges of using a postal service to menace, harass or offend, and 10 charges of making false accusations.

In total, police alleged Ms Baker sent death threat letters to five politicians, including Parramatta federal MP Andrew Charlton and Macnamara federal MP Josh Burns.

She also allegedly sent a death threat to 2GB presenter Mark Levy and to former president of the Australian Jewish Association, David Adler.

In May 2026, Strike Force Eckon from the Counter Terrorism & Special Tactics Command started investigating a large volume of "abusive" letters sent to multiple recipients.

The documents identified 23 alleged victims in total.

'Causing harm and disruption'

Ms Baker was denied bail at Parramatta local court on Wednesday afternoon.

The police prosecutor said they had DNA evidence proving Ms Baker allegedly sent the letters over a five-year period from 2021 to 2026.

They said the nature of her alleged offending had been escalating, with several of the letters sent in 2026.

Court documents showed nearly 60 per cent of all letters allegedly sent by Ms Baker were received in 2026.

Ms Baker's defence lawyer argued for her to be released on bail, saying while the alleged behaviour is "serious", she had not followed up on any of the threats.

She also said Ms Baker was the sole carer for her mother who suffers from multiple health conditions, and her Centrelink payments contribute significantly to their leased Housing NSW residence.

According to her lawyer, Ms Baker suffered a traumatic event in 2018 that she had been medicated for in the past.

'Unacceptable risk'

Despite the defence offering strict bail conditions, including daily reporting to police and handing over her passport, Judge Emma Manea said it was not enough to overcome the potential risk to society.

"It can't be addressed by what's being offered and bail is refused."

NSW Police said Ms Baker also sent threatening letters to organisations, including a place of worship in Lakemba and an exhibition space in Darlinghurst.

She has also been charged with using false document impersonating a victim to influence exercise of public duty, another charge of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, and a third using false document to obtain financial advantage.

Her matter has been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions and she is expected to appear in court on August 13.
