AI Subscription Fraud: Users Report Unauthorized Charges for Claude Gift Cards

Several users of Anthropic's Claude AI chatbot have reported unauthorized charges ranging from £180 to £400 on their credit cards for gift card purchases they did not make. David Duggan (pseudonym) discovered two $200 payments and a failed third attempt after his wife spotted the fraudulent transactions. Similar cases were found on Reddit, with one user reporting ten £18 charges and others charged €216 three times.
