Alibaba AI Model Outperforms Radiologists in Detecting Early Colorectal Cancer

Alibaba's research arm Damo Academy has developed an AI model called Coca that detects early-stage colorectal cancer from CT scans with 86.6% sensitivity and 99.8% specificity. In tests on over 27,000 people, the model identified five previously missed cases and outperformed 10 radiologists by 20.4%, offering a non-invasive alternative to colonoscopy.
