American Pitcher Wes Benjamin Returns to KBO with Doosan Bears as Short-Term Replacement

American left-hander Wes Benjamin has joined the Doosan Bears as a short-term replacement for injured Opening Day starter Chris Flexen, marking his return to the KBO after previous success with the KT Wiz from 2022-2024. The 32-year-old pitcher, who went 31-18 with a 3.74 ERA during his first KBO stint, has made two solid starts since joining earlier this month, including 4 2/3 shutout innings against the Lotte Giants and seven innings of three-run ball against the LG Twins. Benjamin was signed under a new KBO rule allowing teams to replace injured foreign players expected to miss at least six weeks.
