Unfancied Australian golfer Karis Davidson fired a superb seven-under 65 to sit solo second, two shots off the lead, after the first round of the $US13 million Women's PGA Championship in Minnesota, outperforming major winners and higher-ranked compatriots.
Australian Hannah Green secured her fourth victory of 2026 by winning the JM Eagle LA Championship in a playoff, holing a 12-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole to defeat Kim Sei-young and Im Jin-hee at 17-under par. Green trailed by six shots mid-tournament but rallied to win at El Caballero for the third time in four years. The tournament prize money was increased by $1m to $4.75m during the event.

Green finished at 17-under 271, matching Kim and Im, and secured her eighth career LPGA Tour victory and fourth worldwide win of 2026.
