China Urges US to Stop Abusing Sanctions on Chinese Marine Terminal Operator
China has called on the United States to stop abusing sanctions that lack basis in international law, following US restrictions imposed on Qindao Haiye Oil Terminal Co. The Chinese Embassy Spokesperson Liu Pengyu stated that Beijing opposes unilateral sanctions and long-arm jurisdiction, emphasizing that normal economic and trade cooperation between Chinese companies and other countries should not be interfered with. The US State Department announced sanctions against the Chinese marine terminal operator and its president, alleging the company imported tens of millions of barrels of sanctioned Iranian crude oil.
