Okinoshima Island Fragments Identified as Part of Royal Armor

Fragments unearthed at the World Heritage site of Okinoshima Island, where ancient national rituals were held, have been identified as part of a gilded bronze armor. Believed to have been made and dedicated by the Yamato imperial court in the mid-5th century, the armor is similar to that found in the Daisen Kofun, Japan's largest ancient tomb.
