Ganga Expressway: India’s Longest 594 km Expressway Inaugurated in Uttar Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s longest Ganga Expressway, a 594 km six-lane access-controlled highway from Meerut to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. Built at Rs 36,230 crore, the expressway will reduce travel time between the two cities from 10-12 hours to 6-7 hours. Uttar Pradesh accounts for over 60% of India’s total access-controlled expressway network, with approximately 1,200 km of such highways out of 2,900 km nationwide.
