La UE baraja suspender el Acuerdo de Asociación con Israel por incumplimiento de derechos humanos
Brussels is considering suspending the EU-Israel Association Agreement, in force since 2000, due to Israel's violations of democratic principles and human rights. The article 2 of the agreement requires respect for human rights, but lack of unanimity among the 27 member states—particularly Germany and Italy's opposition—complicates any suspension. In 2023, the EU was Israel's main trading partner with 31% of its trade, while Israel received 32 million euros in EU funds.
