Russia will resume paying contributions to the Arctic Council budget if the organization restarts its full-fledged work, according to Vladislav Maslennikov, Director of the Foreign Ministry's Department of European Issues and senior official of the Arctic Council. The issue of Russian contributions remains open, with Moscow stating it is not reneging on financial obligations but needs to see the restoration of full functioning, particularly the resumption of meetings of the committee of senior officials. Russia earlier suspended its contributions until the resumption of full-scale work of the organization.
