British American Tobacco to Cut Nearly a Fifth of Global Workforce
British American Tobacco (BAT) is cutting 5,500 jobs and outsourcing 3,500 more, nearly a fifth of its global workforce, as part of a major cost-cutting drive to save £600m annually by 2028. The move aims to make the company more agile and technology-enabled amid declining traditional cigarette sales and challenges in the vaping market.
