Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Association Launches 'Tourism Everywhere' Initiative to Boost Central District Spending
The Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Association has launched a tourism initiative in Central and Sheung Wan districts with over 50 participating restaurants and shops offering discounts. Running from May 1 to end of June, the programme coincides with mainland China's Labour Day golden week, during which Immigration Department expects 980,000 mainland visitors, a 7% increase year-on-year. Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau Ying-wah said the scheme aims to encourage SME participation, attract foot traffic and showcase local culture.
